Fixing White Outlines for Materials that use Transparency

Often this applies to foliage/plants that are composed of a set of 2-sided simple meshes, and make use of the alpha transparencies for their materials (to create illusion of leaves/stems/twigs).

Solution:"Adjust the Transparency Threshold upwards for materials that have this issue."

If you see "white outlines" on your foliage, you can fix them using the Material Editor, very easily, as shown here../white outlines1.png

Step #1: Select the Model, and then "Edit Material" for the part that has these White Outlines (shown below):./white outlines2.png

Step #2: In Material Editor, adjust the "Transparency->Threshold" value upwards (shown below):./white outlines3.png


Step #3: Adjusting Threshold to 0.9 eliminates the White Outlines, and looks quite good (shown below):./white outlines4.png

 

Step #4: Go back to Model Editor, and click on the "Save" (disk) button at the Top, to save your model with this change.
